IBA Instructors – Shield & Sword

Every IBA instructor is required to complete the Certified International Bodyguard (CIBG) program, regardless of prior experience, service history, or expertise. Upon earning this certification, candidates may pursue the MONITEUR level instructor course. After gaining two years of teaching experience, they may advance to the INSTRUCTEUR program, with license renewal required every two years.

The highest distinction, PROFESSEUR, is awarded only after ten years of active service as an IBA instructor.

In addition, the IBA collaborates with guest lecturers—often retired government officials—for specialized subjects such as explosive detection, surveillance, and counter-surveillance.

Q & A

Why IBA?
IBA has over 60 years of experience in the security sector. The method developed by our founder, Major Lucien Victor Ott, is used worldwide in both the private and government sectors. Many schools offer courses today, but without any real international experience in this sector.

Can I pursue a professional career after completing training with the I.B.A.?

The I.B.A. is solely focused on training and education. However, we collaborate with agencies in Italy and abroad that regularly request qualified personnel. In such cases, we refer candidates who have completed our training programs to respond to our partners’ needs.

Due to widespread crime, companies and individuals are constantly looking for qualified professionals, especially in an international context (to work abroad you must at least speak good English).

What does the I.B.A. offer that others don’t?
Our strengths lie primarily in two key areas:

  • A globally implemented training methodology that enables you to work seamlessly with colleagues from other countries using the same techniques.

  • A team of experienced instructors who support and guide you throughout the entire training process.
